Phone Numbers

One of the SMH blogs is running a small piece on Want to chat with Robert Scoble?:

We daresay that Microsoft celebrity blogger Robert Scoble is going to deeply regret this. Irritated by a journalist who didn't bother checking facts, Scoble has posted his mobile phone number on his blog. On the other hand, he's probably happy to talk to anyone right now, given that he's just had his book published.
While interesting as a story, the matter was somewhat dated. I wrote The more things change... on July 29 (based around an article from The Register - IE7 nukes Google, Yahoo! search). Scoble responded in the (now edited) comments but it turned out that Scoble was caught with his pants down - Microsoft blogger: 'My toolbar vanished too!'. I suspect that the credibility of Scoble (as a Microsoft shill) has faded into insignificance - adding his mobile number to his blog (or actually just drawing attention to the fact that it has always been on his blog) is a moot point.

By the way, what is with the SMH this morning? I have a valid login but it isn't working at all. Guess I'll have to settle for the much-easier-to-use Google News....

Just to be clear, Robert denied any such e-mail, and challenged Orlowski to substantiate. I seem to remember an issue of forged documents and secret sources bringing down CBS.
