Useless news?
There is a write up on the Harry Potter release in The SMH which includes the parting line:
The book has a recommended retail price of $45 but price wars have beaten the cost down to $23 in some stores.
The useless aspect of the article is that it doesn't tell you *where* the book is $23. Surely that is the whole point of the article. I could save enough money to buy the paper for the next few days :-)
And no, before you ask, I have not yet bought a copy. I probably will but I have to say that the quality of the writing does not stack up against someone like Pratchett :-)

And the quality of writing has plummeted since the first 1 or 2 books...

Agreed. Book 6 has chunks in it which are almost "answers to FAQs" with not so much story in it.
