UNIX is a drug

At first, I just did it on weekends. With a few friends, you know... We never wanted to hurt anyone. The girls loved it. We'd all sit around the computer and do a little UNIX. It was just a kick. At least that's what we thought. Then it got worse.

It got so I'd have to do some UNIX during the weekdays. After a while, I couldn't even wake up in the morning without having that crave to go do UNIX. Then it started affecting my job. I would just have to do it during my break. Maybe a 'grep' or two, maybe a little 'more'. I eventually started doing UNIX just to get through the day. Of course, it screwed up my mind so much that I couldn't even function as a normal person.

I'm lucky today, I've overcome my UNIX problem. It wasn't easy. If you're smart, just don't start. Remember, if any weirdo offers you some UNIX,

Just Say No!

I used to think I didn't need a computer, I just used it.

Now, I have no computer (one of the 1gb RAM chips seems to have fried and I'm getting it replaced under warranty) ... and immm gooiiiiinng nuuuuuuuuuutttttts!
Maybe its not just the computer, as I have a laptop (which is how I'm writing this)... but its sooo slooow.

Must have speed. Must have Athlon55, Must have SATA drive. Must have 4gb RAM...

Mama! Gimme 'puter back! Waaaaa!

I'm doing UNIX right now, and my life is great! Sure, my girlfriend doesn't understand why I can't watch tv without doing UNIX, and my boss doesn't understand why I can't do any simple job by any means other than a shell script with 12 |'s and 4 >'s, but it hasn't screwed my life up at all. Nope. My friends don't laugh about my GNU t-shirts when I'm not around or anything.
