Missed Opportunity
I have finally started to catch up on some reading (in between waiting for posts to import over at Gray Monk, The) and I came across a post over at Cynical Cyn:
Women's groups are angry with a beer company which said the difference between a wife and a lover was 30 kilos.
The line was in a television advertisement by Regional beer in Venezuela, reports El Universal newspaper.
Women's rights groups in Venezuela say the advert is a misogynist and are demanding a public apology from the company.
However, Regional beer is standing its ground and says it won't apologise unless it is forced to do so by the courts.
A spokesman for the company added: "I bet all these women's groups are run by women who are at least 30 kilos overweight."
The smart comeback would have been for the women to take out a similar advert which quotes something along the lines of "the difference between Regional beer drinkers and real men is about 30 kilos". Watch the beer company pull the advert superfast :-)

A: About 5 beers.
Q: Whats the difference between a wife and a girlfriend?
A: About 30 kilos.
Q: Whats the difference between a girlfriend and a wife?
A: About 5 beers....
I think that says more about the blokes than it does about the shelias.
