Shaky Server
[This refers to the old server at www.guru-international.com...]
Sorry if you are having trouble reading the blog at the moment - after upgrading the server, I lost all of my IP banning rules (all 4871 of them) and the server is being blasted. I am having trouble keeping anything up long enough to identify the spammers.
Check out this alternate site instead :-)

Out of 24 hours of access_log, I banned 810 IPs. There were 127,246 records to check. The spammers averaged ~65 hits from each IP = 52,650 records or more than 40% of the traffic (midnight to midnight on the 30th of May).

It’s damn discouraging that is what it is. I feel your pain–at least you know how to find them and ban them. I have no clue how to even see what their IP address is. I have had to stop getting notices when someone responds to posts on the blog just to keep my email box from getting shut down. SO even though the continue to post stupid comments, at least they are not getting through to my email. So, now I just have to remember to look every day to see if someone commented the day before. If a real person comments on something Iposted more than 24 hours ago, I won’t know. Oh well……..
