Hmmm, I think I prefer the portraits dreamed up by the UK artist to illustrate these books. I will have to scan some of my images and post them to you - you'll see what I mean!

We get the English covers and pictures in Australia. It was quote confusing to notice that the Amazon icons (over on the right) use American covers which don't actually look as good (IMHO). I also have some of the wall calendars with Kirby's images on them.

I would appear to be Buggy Swires. Which comes as something of a surprise. But if you think it's funny, I'll nut you!
The Josh Kirby covers took a little getting used to at first, but now it's hard to get used to not having them any more. Alas.

Kirby's illustrations weren't accurate, while Kidby's are. Know this.

Interesting observation from Anon. Not sure that I buy it though. The illustrations are the artists "perception" of what the characters look like. If Terry (the only one who knows what they look like) is happy to use both artists, then that is good enough for me. you also need to consider when the pictures were drawn. After all the description of Vimes in MR actually sounded to me like a description of Nobby so that implies my mental image for Vimes was not very accurate either....
