I like the entrance to the robot's temple actually - good guess and very appropriate but it is in fact (as Raena guessed - the war memorial. Everyone knows about the war memorial in Canberra (great big thing that takes two or three days to explore) but very few people ever find this one in the middle of Hyde Park. On the day of the photo, the glass shields were up (which is why the steps appear to stop at a blue glass wall). It featured in the paper recently when the police arrested a man for relieving himself against the memorial. If he had done it against a tree he would have been fined $250 but the statute for the war memorial had not been updated for ages and the fine was something like 1 pound (pre 1966 currency).
