Competition

Ok. last time I posted some mystery animals, this time I am going to make the competition more formal. In this article there are four tartan squares - all of them are tartans whichI am able to wear. IF you can correctly identify all four tartans - OR - list them in the same order that I did when I approached the kiltmaker THEN you are entitled to a guest posting. This can either be a post you prepare and send to me (for editorial approval) or a topic that you select and I have to post about.

Here are the selected tartans, displayed in a random order:

Wow. I didn't think it would be so hard to sort out. Come on, all you had to do was re-arrange four numbers in random order and you were in with a chance.... OK the four tartans are (top to bottom): Australian Dress (also available in a an Regular), MacQueen (looks like Wallace but more black stripes), Stuart of Bute (more correctly Stuart of Bute Modern Hunting) and finally The Australian tartan (almost impossible to find). The first used to be reserved for officials (e.g. the governor general) but now both the first and the last are generally available for Australians (as district Tartans). The MacQueen and Stuart of Bute are both clans from the western side of Scotland.
